I designed these earrings around the beautiful Lampwork glass beads I recently purchased. These intricate faceted lampwork glass beads are made with gold sand and Rose Pattern inside. I made the leafs with sterling silver metal clay. I created the top bead caps with sterling clay and the bottom bead caps with sterling sheet. I completed the leaves with a eyelet rivet for a nice finished look. The ear wires are sterling silver. Perfect gift for someone who loves a handmade artisan piece of jewelry.


After texturing the clay, sanding, and cutting out the shape, I fire my pieces in an electronically temperature controlled kiln for 2 hours. I then oxidize them to bring out the texture. I finish the process by polishing, burnishing, and tumbling them.

The earring measure 1 1/2 inches long and 1/2 inch wide and have a drop length of 2 inches

Silver clay is a wonderful medium that starts out in a clay form consisting of sterling silver and binder. After firing in the kiln, the binder burns off and the end result is a beautiful piece of 100% sterling silver.
