After texturing the copper clay, sanding, and cutting out the shapes, the pieces are fired in an electronically temperature-controlled kiln for the maximum applicable time to ensure the highest quality jewelry. During the firing process the organic binder in the clay is burned off leaving pure copper. I oxidize the pieces to bring out the texture then finish the process by polishing, burnishing, and tumbling them.
I finish the earrings with handmade sterling silver eyelets and ear wires. The eyelets give the copper earrings a nice finished look.
